Show your community your Terp spirit and passion for service. Follow the University's Do Good initiative by kicking off April with some community service while connecting with fellow alumni living in the Bay Area.

This year, alumni like you will head to Project Open Hand. Your shift will begin with an orientation/tour and finish with a complimentary lunch. Your group will volunteer in our Grocery Center or Kitchen.Tasks may include sorting, bagging, culling food items, stocking their Grocery Center shelves, shopping for their clients or assisting in their kitchen during special projects. Kitchen volunteers slice and dice whole food and help assemble meal packages for their clients to pick up.

It is important to note that all volunteers must be 15 years or older and dress appropriately in close-toed shoes, shirts with sleeves (no tank tops) and full length pants (no shorts/capris/ skirts, etc.). Hats are also welcomed for volunteers who prefer not to wear hairnets. Unfortunately, if a member of the group does not follow the above dress code they will not be permitted to volunteer. We have 20 spots available so sign up early to ensure yourself a spot.

We hope that you will join us for this important day of service in our community.
